A common issue when installing the Ice and Blood expansion on top of the UK version of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel comes about after the installation and patching is done and you try to run the game. The game does not ask for your Ice and Blood serial number prior to starting the game (as it did with Fallen Angel). Instead, it starts loading and half-crashes with an error that reads:

The game is still running, but the utility that would normally request your serial number is hidden and inaccessible. The built in activation utility can't be Alt-Tabbed to, nor can you switch task to it. You can only kill the game from Task Manager. In such a case, a manual activation is required. After Ending Task on the game, the steps for doing a manual activation are:

And then when I click on the sacred Icon ...it tells me that the game didnt install correctly and I should try re-installing it. (obviously, cause it never asked for my serial key) ...so it never goes into the game at all. I dont know if it load both Fallen Angel and Ice & Blood...I did put both cd's in as the installation wizard asks for it...and I have both serial keys, both games.

So let sacred install, with every other application off like virus scan and firewall, then go to this site and download the new patch (do not open sacred yet, just let the 'launch sacred window remain open' patch it and voila, that's how easy it was, don't use the updater on the discs because it would say you allready have the newest patch.

I've tried the links that supposedly allow for manual activations but I'm getting an invalid key. I've been entering the Ice & Blood key here and the unlock code given in the small application that launches when I try to start the game. I don't know what to do with the Gold serial key though. Just confused!!

After the atomic bombing at the end of World War II, anxieties about survival in the nuclear age led scientists to begin stockpiling and freezing hundreds of thousands of blood samples from indigenous communities around the world. These samples were believed to embody potentially invaluable biological information about genetic ancestry, evolution, microbes, and much more. Today, they persist in freezers as part of a global tissue-based infrastructure. In Life on Ice, Joanna Radin examines how and why these frozen blood samples shaped the practice known as biobanking.

Poppies have long been used as a symbol of sleep, peace, and death: Sleep because the opium extracted from them is a sedative, and death because of the common blood-red colour of the red poppy in particular. In Greek and Roman myths, poppies were used as offerings to the dead.[16] Poppies used as emblems on tombstones symbolize eternal sleep. This symbolism was evoked in L. Frank Baum's 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, in which a magical poppy field threatened to make the protagonists sleep forever.[16]A second interpretation of poppies in Classical mythology is that the bright scarlet colour signifies a promise of resurrection after death.[17]

A fast-paced novel of romantic suspense, Sacred Sins is set during a simmering Washington, D.C., summer when a police detective and a beautiful psychiatrist join forces to stop a serial killer nicknamed "The Priest"--and soon find themselves entangled in both love and murder. Roberts is also the author of over 40 novels including Hot Ice. .Combining explosive suspense with sensual passion, the bestselling author of Carnal Innocence and The Reef turns up the heat in this classic tale, available for the first time in hardcover-the sizzling story of a man and woman on the trail of a demented killer... and on the verge of surrendering to a dangerous love.In the last lazy days of summer, the merciless two-week heat wave is the biggest story in Washington, D.C. But the weather is finally knocked off the front pages when a young woman is found strangled to death-a priest's white silk amice pulled taut around her throat. Pinned near the scarf is a note that simply reads her sins are forgiven her. It is a chilling crime, made even more terrifying when it is followed by a second murder... and then a third. Suddenly every headline is devoted to the killer the press has dubbed "the Priest."The slayings have piqued the interest of Dr. Tess Court, a top-notch psychiatrist dedicated to treating the problems of the human mind. And when the police make little headway in solving the crimes, Tess is reluctantly thrust into the very heart of the investigation. Called in to create a detailed psychological profile of the murderer, she comes up with a disturbing and frightening portrait of a twisted soul who believes he is not murdering-but ministering.Detective Ben Paris doesn't give a damn about the killer's soul or his psyche, and he makes it clear that he thinks calling in a psychiatrist is on a par with ringing up a psychic hot line. What he can't dismiss so readily is his immediate and irresistible attraction to Tess. Tall, dark, and good-looking, Ben has a reputation with women that is legendary, and with good reason. But the coolly elegant Tess doesn't react to Ben like any other woman he's ever known-and he finds the challenge enticing. Now, as the two are thrown together in a perilous quest to stop a serial killer, the flame of white-hot passion flares. But someone else has his eyes on the beautiful blond doctor... someone who dreams of saving her and cleansing her soul with his special brand of absolution. And while Tess is confident she can help him, Ben can only pray that when the madman strikes, he'll be able to stop him before it's too late....About The AuthorNot only has Nora Roberts written more bestsellers than anyone else in the world (according to Publishers Weekly), she s also created a hybrid genre of her own: the futuristic detective romance. And that s on top of mastering every subgenre in the romance pie: the family saga, the historical, the suspense novel. But this most prolific and versatile of authors might never have tapped into her native talent if it hadn't been for one fateful snowstorm. As her fans well know, in 1979 a blizzard trapped Roberts at home for a week with two bored little kids and a dwindling supply of chocolate. To maintain her sanity, Roberts started scribbling a story -- a romance novel like the Harlequin paperbacks she'd recently begun reading. The resulting manuscript was rejected by Harlequin, but that didn't matter to Roberts. She was hooked on writing. Several rejected manuscripts later, her first book was accepted for publication by Silhouette. For several years, Roberts wrote category romances for Silhouette -- short books written to the publisher's specifications for length, subject matter and style, and marketed as part of a series of similar books. Roberts has said she never found the form restrictive. "If you write in category, you write knowing there's a framework, there are reader expectations," she explained. "If this doesn't suit you, you shouldn't write it. I don't believe for one moment you can write well what you wouldn't read for pleasure."Roberts never violated the reader's expectations, but she did show a gift for bringing something fresh to the romance formula. Her first book, Irish Thoroughbred (1981), had as its heroine a strong-willed horse groom, in contrast to the fluttering young nurses and secretaries who populated most romances at the time. But Roberts's books didn't make significant waves until 1985, when she published Playing the Odds, which introduced the MacGregor clan. It was the first bestseller of many.Roberts soon made a name for herself as a writer of spellbinding multigenerational sagas, creating families like the Scottish MacGregors, the Irish Donovans and the Ukrainian Stanislaskis. She also began working on romantic suspense novels, in which the love story unfolds beneath a looming threat of violence or disaster. She grew so prolific that she outstripped her publishers' ability to print and market Nora Roberts books, so she created an alter ego, J.D. Robb. Under the pseudonym, she began writing romantic detective novels set in the future. By then, millions of readers had discovered what Publishers Weekly called her "immeasurable diversity and talent."Although the style and substance of her books has grown, Roberts remains loyal to the genre that launched her career. As she says, "The romance novel at its core celebrates that rush of emotions you have when you are falling in love, and it's a lovely thing to relive those feelings through a book." 2ff7e9595c
